Gregory Maguire is an American author. He is the author of the novels Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, Son of a Witch, Lost, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, and Mirror, Mirror for adults. Additionally, he is too andy skinner of numerous more books geared toward tikes. Maguire typically utilizes existent literature when a basis for his writing, as he neutralize composing Wicked - a backstory to L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. His novel Wicked was off into the hit Broadway musical also entitled Wicked. He received his Ph.D. within English & U.s. Literature from either Tufts University. He has tercet adoptive kids & is married to painter Andy Newman. Maguire is likewise the founder & codirector of Toddlers's Literature Up to date England, Inc. which was established around 1987 and is also the contributor to Am I personally Blue?: Coming Out From either a Silence, the collection of short stories for gay and lesbian teenagers. The sequel to Wicked, entitled Son of a Witch, was released within October of 2005.
